Painting on patterns
Went to a fabulous show at the Gibbes Museum. John Westmark uses tissue pattern pieces as the foundation for his paintings. They are flowing, expressive and thoughtful pieces. See more here

Steal Like An Artist
Love this book by Austin Kleon http://austinkleon.com/steal/. Love his candor and common sense. Great quotes like "the only art I'll ever study is the stuff I can steal from" - David Bowie. How about you?

hardware....

The view through the camera lens allows me to focus on discreet evidence, primarily evidence of human interaction with the built environment. Door and window hardware tells the story of access and egress. Machinery parts and pieces show how we have manipulated earth materials to have control over some aspect our lives. These are views of the mechanisms we have made to regulate our environment.
